A recent customer test comparing our 9-flute XT9 Series 380 end mill against the existing method, which used a competitor’s indexable tool with 3 cutting edges showed a total cost reduction of almost £4,500 (53.8%) when machining a batch of 800 components from Chrome Boron.

Our high performance, 20mm diameter XT9 end mill, enabled both the feed rate and depth of cut to be tripled, plus a slightly faster cutting speed, which combined to deliver a 500% increase in metal removal rate.
