An exhibition for East Midlands members of Made in the Midlands (MiM), an initiative that represents the interests of 270 local engineering and manufacturing businesses at a national level, has proven to be a success for M.A. Ford Europe, which joined MiM earlier in 2015.
Sponsored by UK Trade & Investment and staged at iPro Park, the home of football league Championship team, Derby County, the event was the inaugural exhibition for MiM’s East Midlands region with around 30 local manufacturers on show, which attracted hundreds of prospective customers from across the region.
M.A. Ford Europe used its recent experiences of exhibiting at major international trade shows to present its integrated manufacturing solutions, which included high performance cutting tools and the Rego-Fix precision tool holding system, as well as high speed machining software and BlueSwarf spindle vibration analysis technology.
David Ward, Managing Director with M.A. Ford Europe, explained: “The Midlands is the heartland of engineering and manufacturing excellence in the UK and we’re delighted to be part of Made in the Midlands, which provides a range of support initiatives, such as this exhibition to help businesses like us make new contacts and grow.”
He added: “Even though our export sales continue to increase year on year, the UK is an important part of our business. As precision engineering companies in the domestic aerospace, medical, automotive and die & mould sectors, for example, are constantly seeking higher performance machining and productivity to maintain competitiveness, our range of manufacturing solutions have proven to be the perfect answer and we’re already delivering outstanding results with countless UK businesses.”
