A Haas machining demonstration day at M.A. Ford, Derby, was the catalyst for custom motorcycle builder and restorer, Ride & Restore, to equip their new machine shop with high performance tooling from M.A. Ford running on a new Haas Mini-Mill.
Although Macclesfield based R&R produce low volume aluminium components from 6082 alloy, their demand for ultimate precision, quality and consistency led them to run tests and then adopt both our TuffCut® 137V-AL end mills, and MSM XD-19 face mills as the core of its manufacturing operation.
R&R Director, Christian Bell, explained: “We’re a small specialist business, but the input and support we received from M.A. Ford and Kurt Regan, our main contact, has been exceptional. Kurt and his team have helped every step of the way from initial discussions, tool selection, testing and machine programming, to ensure we achieved the best performance and results.”
He added: “Our business depends on delivering the best custom motorcycles to our individual customers, and M.A. Ford understands this fully, which is why we regard them as an integral part of our operations.”
