M.A. Ford expands support for South West manufacturing with new appointment

Kevin Jefferies has joined M.A. Ford Europe as Technical Sales Manager, which expands the company’s sales, customer service and technical support for manufacturing businesses in the South West of England and South Wales.

With more than 30 years experience gained in commercial and military aerospace manufacturing, as well as the UK’s nuclear industry and broader contract engineering sectors, Kevin joins M.A. Ford from Seco Tools, where he was area business manager dealing with its indexable and carbide tooling products.

After completing his apprenticeship and gaining an HNC in production engineering while at the Atomic Energy Research Establishment Harwell, Kevin joined the R.A.F. as Senior NCO responsible for workshops and manufacturing, before moving to PTG Precision Engineering and then to Hymec Aerospace in 2012 in advance of his role at Seco.

A keen rugby player and coach with the senior Devon League near his home in Plymouth, Kevin’s role at M.A. Ford encompasses all aspects of the company’s high performance tooling and application engineering to service and support manufacturing companies in Somerset; Bristol; Devon & Cornwall, as well as some key areas of South Wales.

Stephen James, MA. Ford Europe’s Sales Director, commented: “Kevin’s in-depth knowledge of indexable and solid carbide tooling, as well as his detailed experience of machining exotic materials for aerospace, nuclear and other demanding sectors, have made him an excellent ‘fit’ within our business and the existing team serving the South West. We’re delighted to have him working with us, as the region is an expanding area for us.”
