Glynn Mills (pictured left) and Antony Theaker (right) have joined M.A. Ford Europe as Technical Sales Managers, as the company expands its manufacturer and customer technical support in the North of England.
Prior to taking up the new posts, both held key roles in their previous companies with Antony joining from Kyocera SGS, where he was UK and Strategic Sales Manager, while Glynn was Technical Sales Engineer at Helix Tools with responsibility for the North-East.
Each brings more than 25 years of experience to M.A. Ford gained with a number of employers, notably three-years at SECO Tools for Glynn, as a technical sales engineer, and a five-year period for Antony at Sandvik Coromant, where he covered Yorkshire as an area sales engineer.
Having spent most of their careers working in their respective regions, dealing with a range of manufacturing businesses in aerospace, oil & gas and other high-precision sectors, as well as supporting distributors, they both have a detailed understanding of the various challenges and opportunities facing engineering companies.
This was a key consideration for M.A. Ford’s Sales Director, Stephen James, when considering how to develop the company’s presence in the North of England. Stephen explained: “Antony and Glynn both have the ability to understand manufacturing issues and solve problems.
“As engineers, they are familiar with providing detailed technical input, and have spent decades working with engineering companies, helping them optimise productivity, effectiveness and cost. This sits perfectly with our approach, where exemplary technical support is virtually as important as our cutting tools.”
He added: “As we came into 2021, we had a strategic objective of reinforcing and expanding our support in Northern England. With Antony’s knowledge of North-West, Ireland and the Isle of Man, combined with Glynn’s detailed understanding of Yorkshire and the North-East, I believe we have the perfect solution to help us achieve our aims.”
