Following M.A. Ford Europe’s appointment as UK distributor and technical partner by Japanese manufacturer, Nakanishi, their range of high speed motor spindles was unveiled at MACH 2024.
This is the latest appointment for M.A. Ford Europe, who now handles the HES; iSpeed3 and HTS products from the Nakanishi's range of electric and air-turbine units, which are capable of spindle speeds up to 150,000 rev/min.
Designed to be mounted in CNC machine spindles, with various shank types, including BT, HSK A63, IT and straight, the Nakanishi units enable standard machining centres to be easily adapted and achieve the very high spindle speeds needed when using high performance precision tooling with small diameters.
Both the Nakanishi HES and iSpeed3 ranges are electrically driven and can reach 80,000 rev/min, while the HTS air turbine models can reach 150,000 rev/min and all have a quoted spindle accuracy within 1 micron.
Stephen James, M.A. Ford Europe’s Sales Director, commented: “This is another important addition to our programme of developing key distribution arrangements with selected partners.
Nakanishi products provide high precision and cost effective solutions for manufacturers where existing machine spindle speeds could restrict the versatility of their machining operations without capital investment in new machine tools.:
He added: “We have been testing the Nakanishi products at our Derby R&D centre in Derby for several months using our new Series XM range of micro end mills, which start at just 0.1mm in diameter, and the results have been impressive. With the Nakanishi range, we not only have an excellent high-speed solution for precision micro-machining, but also a perfect partner for our XM Series micro-tools.”
